Joel Nelson, Noble, and 11 Ghosts: Live Music at Cha

Joel Nelson is a musician and composer from Alabama, currently living in Portland Oregon, whose work explores the intersections of folk tradition, experimental sound, and electronic music. He performs on guitar, bagpipe, electronics, and generator organ. Tonight he will be performing works from the upcoming posthumous release As I Slowly Slip Into The Sky (Pre Order) by Birmingham poet and artist Johnny Coley, in honor of his memory and legacy.

Noble is the moniker of Lauren Jones, a musician from Birmingham, AL. Her music blends folky art-pop with lush vocal harmonies and droning, rhythmic elements. Her album Play Place layers samples of children's toys with ambient keyboards and synths.
